‘Consciousness’ Sage Culture, LA

Seven International artists exhibiting in ‘Consciousness’, a collaborative exhibition between Prof Andrew Parker and Sage Culture, bringing together artists working with the theme of colour and responses to it. Orlanda Broom’s paintings centre on the colour yellow.

Professor Parker has dedicated his life to researching photonic structures and eyes: evolution, development, and biomimetics. His main field of study is the diversity and evolution of structural colour in nature.

After many years of experimentation he succeeded in reproducing these colours in his laboratory using industrial machines. These are considered the world's brightest coloration and became known as Pure Structural Colour. Each artist was invited to use work with a sample of Pure Structural Colour.
