‘My paintings are layered compositions which draw from exotic flora set in wild terrains and otherworldly landscapes. The familiar motifs of floral and landscape paintings act as a language through which to explore life cycles, the capacity for growth, decay and renewal. Aspects of my paintings are playful and suggestive, intending to allure with saturated colour and seductive floral elements. There is a subtle undercurrent that is in contrast to joyful a sense of abandonment; it is one of powerlessness and insignificance in the face of evolution.'
